No such thing as "just" a firefighter

Every firefighter is a volunteer. No one made us choose this profession... What does that mean?

With the title of "firefighter", there comes a certain power. All too often in the fire service, we can feel powerless. And that's particularly true for the passionate among us. Powerlessness, however, is an illusion.

You are not "just a firefighter", not merely a "body" to fill a seat.

You have earned the title of firefighter, and you asked for the responsibility.

How you choose to shoulder that responsibility is no small thing. It is a matter of principle and purpose. And in this profession, it is quite literally a matter of life or death.
